Every week, the Blood Service organises dozens of blood drives in different parts of Finland. As much as half of all donated blood is collected in these mobile sessions. In addition to events open for everyone, they are organised at major employers' premises, garrisons and large educational institutions. Welcome to join us!
If at least 1,000 people (aged over 18) work or study at the same premises, you can inquire about the possibility of inviting a mobile Blood Service unit to your workplace or school.
Things to consider include:
- number of persons (min. 1000)
- time (Mon-Fri)
- location (distance from the closest Blood Service mobile unit base)
- accessible, peaceful, and appropriate facilities
- refreshment facilities
The mobile sessions are carried out by local Blood Service offices in Kuopio, Oulu, Seinäjoki, Tampere, Turku, and Helsinki. For more information, please contact your local office using the details on the right.
NOTE: For small and medium-sized communities, the easiest way to help is to donate as a BloodGroup at the nearest Blood Service office or at a local blood donation event. A free round-trip taxi ride is available for at least 4 people (max. 2-20 km).
Interested in volunteering for a blood donation event?
Volunteer contact persons and assistants play a major role in organising a successful donation event. It is important that the arrangements go smoothly, accurate information is disseminated in advance, and the safety and comfort of donors is ensured.
If you are interested in volunteering for blood donation events at your place of residence, please contact the regional Red Cross district office.
