Videos that enter the “Lend an arm” video competition must be made in accordance with the following rules. All videos that have been made according to the rules participate in the video competition organized by the Blood Service.
1. General about the competition
The “Lend an arm” video competition is organized by the Finnish Red Cross Blood Service. The theme of the video shall be the recruitment of new blood donors, and the target group is young adults.
The video can be either live action, animation, or any other type of video you come up with. You can participate in the competition either individually or as a group.
The winner or the group of winners will be awarded with EUR 1,500. The winner is selected by a Blood Service jury. Every participant has a chance to win small prizes.
The participants must publish their competition videos on Youtube and send the video link to firstname.lastname@example.org by 31 August 2018 at the latest.
All videos that participate in the competition can be published in Blood Service channels or in social media.
2. Theme of the video
The purpose of the video is to inspire people to donate blood. The competitors can freely choose what kind of a video they want to make, whether it is live action or perhaps an animation. The most important thing is that the video appeals to the target group. Check out the facts and read about blood donation.
3. Competition period
The competition period continues until 31 August 2018. Any videos published after this date will no longer enter the competition.
The winner will be announced in September 2018.
4. Participation in the competition
Person(s) residing in Finland can enter the competition. To participate, you need to upload a competition video to the public YouTube channel and send the YouTube link to the address info (at) veripalvelu.fi. Please include your contact information: Name, email address and telephone number, and the name(s) of the person(s) who made the video and the copyright information of potential music. The competition period ends on 31 August 2018.
5. Duration of the video
The recommended length of the video is one minute, including the potential opening and end credits.
6. Music and sounds on the video
Person/s doing the video must have copyrights to the music used on the video. Music and sounds not requiring a licence from Teosto can be used. The music possibly used on the video must be mentioned in the message sent to the Blood Service, but not in the end credits.
7. Other copyright issues
The video must not contain any footage to which the person/s doing the video does/do not have copyrights.
8. About video rights
The Blood Service can show videos entered to the competition or parts thereof in its own channels, including social media, events and other marketing and advertising. After the competition ends, the Blood Service shall retain full presentation rights to the competition videos as described above.
9. Notifying the award winner and delivery of the award
The winner will be notified personally. The award sum is EUR 1,500. It will be paid to a Finnish bank account assigned by the winner. The winner is responsible for any applicable taxes.
